Mixed Lacrosse

Clare mixed lacrosse (Clax) is one of the most popular college sports. There’s always a fun and relaxed atmosphere and it’s a good way to get to know people in college from different year groups. It’s a great sport to try if you’re looking to take up something new, most of the team had never held a lacrosse stick before joining and beginners are welcome to come along and give lax a go at any point during the season.

The main aim of Clax is to try and catch a few balls, score the occasional goal and of course intimidate the other colleges with our great cheat, strong team spirit and bright yellow stash. We’re currently in Division 1 and play at weekends during Michaelmas and Lent terms. Games are usually on Saturday mornings (sometimes Sundays), followed by a team trip to brunch. Cuppers is an all-day tournament at the end of Lent term and is a super fun day where we play loads of other teams – last year we made it through to the semi-finals. Our socials are held once a term and are rumoured in college to be better than the may ball…
