Clare Canaries

We meet at 4pm every Sunday for about an hour and a half to sing from any and every genre – in the past we have tried Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody, Billy Joel, Christmas carols, Corsican lullabies and songs from across Africa. All abilities are welcome and no audition is required. We are always looking for new members and new things to try, so feel free to come along whenever you can.

Each term we work towards a small concert and do swaps/joint events with other similar choirs.

Clare College Music Society

Clare College Music Society is one of the biggest and most highly regarded music societies in Cambridge. Weekly recitals are held in the College Chapel every Monday lunchtime, and we stage orchestral and choral concerts every term in West Road Concert Hall. Recent performances include major works such a Beethoven’s 3rd Symphony, Vaughan William’s Serenade to Music and Ravel’s Scheherazade. For those who prefer more contemporary music, we are keen to support any Clare student putting on their own gig or concert, just get in touch with a member of the committee!

Due to its jam-packed schedule, CCMS is one of the most exciting societies to be a part of in Cambridge. This is, of course, helped by its much envied social calendar of post-concert parties, and the infamous termly CCMS Formals are not ones to miss!
