Cutty Sark Women’s Investment Fund

The Clare College Cutty Sark Investment Society (CCCSIS or Cutty Sark for short), is a society aimed to prepare women for suitable investment careers and to educate its members on how to look after their savings.

As active investors, we invest our £70,000 fund in global equities and equity funds. We take the FTSE World Index as the index for our fund. Any profit we make is shared between the Nicholas Hammond Foundation and the Cutty Sark Fund.

In addition to investing, we also organise guest speaker events and networking opportunities with the intention to promote and make investment accessible to women from all academic fields.

Our meetings are usually on a Sunday afternoon in Memorial Court. No prior knowledge or experience is needed to be able to join; the committee provides teaching points each week to help new and existing members learn.

Together Against Trafficking (TAT)

Together Against Trafficking has been founded by students at the University of Cambridge to raise awareness on sex trafficking through participative events and to raise funds for victims in India.

We hope to raise awareness through interactive events so as to make the experience more memorable, therefore more effectively spreading our message. It is not one purely of depicting the brutality of this human trade, but also of conveying the hope that the rescued girls have in a better future, by being exposed to new opportunities. We are partnered with Be Aware Now, who similarly use interactive art performances to raise awareness amongst the youth.

The funds raised from our interactive events will go directly to the girls themselves, who are in centers run by one of our partner organizations (Rescue Foundation) in Mumbai, Pune, Boisar and Delhi (India). We will also be selling hand-made products by these talented girls (a website selling these products will be created shortly).

Our ultimate aim is to create a worldwide student network in support of the fight against sex trafficking. So please support our awareness campaign by sharing our page and coming to our events! With united hands, we can get that one step closer to equality!
