Prospective Students

If you’re thinking of applying to Clare these are the pages for you. They should, hopefully, persuade you that applying to Clare is a sound decision.

Under this section you will find a wealth of information about what it is actually like to study at Clare right from the horse’s mouth, the students themselves. We have put together a collection of testimonies provided current Clare students. These testimonies detail what it is like to study a particular subject at Clare and importantly what you can expect from a subject interview at Clare. We hope that this information will aid decisions about what you want to study and whether Clare is the right place for you.

We have also created a ‘tour of Clare’ in which photos from in and around college have been uploaded. We want you to be able to see for yourselves how beautiful Clare is and where you could be spending your university years. We have included photos of all types of first year accommodation along with the current rent prices for these rooms. If you are holding an offer at Clare we hope this will help you choose what type of room to go for.

In the ‘Pros and Cons’ and ‘Why apply to Clare?’ sections you can find up to date information about the cost of living in college as well as what we think are the best and the (very few) worst bits about being a Clare student.

You might also want to take a look at our 2014 Fresher’s Guide. This guide is given to Freshers just before they arrive at Clare it contains much more detailed information than we could ever put on the website and should give you an idea about what ‘Freshers Week’ at Clare might entail.

The College’s access team put in place many opportunities to visit Clare before you apply. There are school visits, summer schools, and a shadowing scheme which is operated by CUSU, the University Students Union. For more information about these opportunities or for more info about applying to Clare feel free to contact our UCS Access Officer Emma McLean: ucs-access [at] srcf [dot] net.
